Junior Rangers, a 20-part web series based from Longleat, has topped 100,000 viewers!
The five-minute or so shows put together by Joe (12yrs) and Annie Smith (10yrs) with help from their dad, Clive Smith, an experienced television cameraman, have been aired on both the Longleat website and on iTunes and have regularly appeared in the Top 10 on the Kids and Family podcast section of iTunes and at times, have been at Number 2!
Longleat’s marketing manager, Jo Sparrow, said “I am absolutely delighted with the performance of Junior Rangers. Joe and Annie have become an integral part of the Longleat team and have shown remarkable dedication, bravery and sheer determination to the programme. They handled tarantulas and snakes; prepared fish for the sea lions; mucked out the rhinos; took a ferret for a walk; washed down the Safari Bus and so much more!
“The shows have been a vital addition to the website as, following the success of BBC Animal Park, we have realised just how interested

visitors are to see what goes on behind the scenes. We have just turned the concept slightly on its head and have tried to produce something specifically for kids by kids. Although, we are pretty confident that mum and dad watch it too!” she added.
The series has been recommissioned for 2009 with Joe and Annie currently thinking up some exciting new stories for the programmes.
