BBC ‘Animal Park’ first hit our screens in 2000 and has been attracting millions of viewers ever since. Presented by Kate Humble and Ben Fogle, the series goes behind the scenes to investigate the daily goings on and dramas of this world famous safari park and stately home.
Stories covered over the years have included the very serious impact of foot and mouth in 2001 and its implications on the day-to-day running of the Estate, the transfer of the Longleat elephants to France (2003), the recovery and return of the Titian ‘Rest on the Flight into Egypt’ which was stolen from Longleat in 1995 and more.
Then of course, there was the introduction of three new rhinos in 2003, the introduction of three new tigers in 2007, numerous births… from giraffe to lions, zebras to camel, sea lions to marmosets, tree felling, chandelier cleaning, lake maintenance and so much more! |
